 Dr. Pankaj Naram is an
accomplished Ayurvedic physician who has devoted his life to practicing the ancient art
and science of Ayurveda - a holistic system of health and well-being practiced for
thousands of years in India, which is gaining popularity around the world as a complement
to western medicine. As a young man, Pankaj studied Ayurveda extensively and spent many
years in intense study with a highly respected Tibetan monk whose specialty was diagnosis
through pulse reading. This master physician imparted all his knowledge to Dr. Naram. He
also bequeathed to Dr. Naram precious 5000-year-old documents containing authentic and
potent Ayurvedic herbal formulations that continue to be effective remedies even in
today's modern world.
Dr. Naram and his
wife, Dr. Smita Naram, created and operate the Ayushakti Ayurved Health Center in Mumbai,
India They also lecture and treat patients throughout Europe, North America and Australia.
Their work over the years includes developing an HIV program for Mother Theresas
clinic in Calcutta, treating His Holiness the Dalai Lama among other dignitaries, and
providing care to hundreds of thousands of people.
In the early weeks and months
of rescue and recovery work at Ground Zero, the toxic
pollution began to affect the health of workers, volunteers and residents. Dr. Naram was
approached for advice by one of STWSs founders, who was a volunteer health worker at St.
Pauls Chapel. Dr. Naram immediately volunteered his services to develop a detoxification
program for those affected. Based on the successful treatment of metal toxicity in Indian
workers, Dr. Smita Naram, also an Ayurvedic practitioner and pharmacologist, began
developing the customized formula of herbal supplements that are now offered through
Serving Those Who Serve. The herbs offer a safe, natural detoxification that eliminates
metal toxins from the body, thereby greatly reducing the symptoms they cause.
Pankaj Naram and Smita Naram are renowned throughout India and Europe for their
groundbreaking research and work in the science of Ayurveda.
In How to Live to be 100 with Energy, Enthusiasm and Tranquility, Dr. Pankaj Naram
shares the Ayurvedic wisdom passed on to him by his 111-year-old Tibetan teacher,
physician and holy man. The title of the book contains a maxim that his teacher practiced
throughout his life, which is the cornerstone of the Ayushakti herbs and worldwide
practice of Dr. Naram. This book contains both practical information about the pulse
diagnosis technique used by Dr. Naram, and ways that his herbs work to balance and nourish
the mind, body and emotions.
Dr. Smita Naram, who is also an expert on nutrition, has compiled a cookbook of Ayurvedic
recipes called, Breakthrough Diet for Health, Beauty, Immunity and Longevity. She
has also appeared on a popular nationwide television show on Ayurvedic home remedies
broadcast throughout India. In her cookbook, Smita Naram offers a wide range of recipes
suited to the individual constitution of those eager to incorporate an Ayurvedic diet into
their lifestyle. These recipes form the menu for the Narams renowned Ayushakti cafe
