Dear friends:
Recently there was an article in The New York Times stating that metals are found in many Ayurvedic herbs.
This is not the case with our herbal formulas. Dr. Naram's organization adheres to very strict international
testing standards. See below for a letter from Dr. Smita Naram, who oversees the cultivation and production of
the herbs:

To Whom It May Concern:
In addition to being an Ayurvedic physician, I am also a pharmacist.
I direct both the growing and harvesting and production of the
Ayurvedic herbs used in the herbal formulas given out by Ayushakti
clinic in Mumbai, and all over the world by my husband Dr. Pankaj
Naram, myself and other Ayushakti doctors. I have a team of
5 qualified pharmacists and research scientists who meticulously
oversee the production of the herbs. We also test our products
for their quality and safety on world-class instruments like
AAS, HPTLC, GC, etc.
The herbs we use are made of plants and minerals and are all-natural.
Because of this their effect is gentle and gradual. They are
formulated to work with the body's own natural systems. The
herbs are also designed so they can be integrated with almost
any Western medical protocol. STWS is a nonprofit whose mission
it is to provide an Ayurvedic herbal cleansing formula developed
by Pankaj and myself free of charge to the rescue and recovery
workers and volunteers affected by exposure to Ground Zero and
related sites.
Every new batch of herbs that is to be shipped for use in Europe
or the U.S. is first tested at Neotron Laboratories in Europe,
for the analysis of heavy metals (and other tests if required).
The products are shipped only if their results are within the
safety limits prescribed by the international standards. The
herbs are also tested in India at our own testing laboratory
and at Hitech Analytical Laboratories, an FDA-approved lab.
The herbs that are used in the manufacturing of the herbal remedies
are standardized extracts and are analyzed for their purity
and efficacy. Our factory is ISO 9001-2000 certified. ISO is
a Swiss organization which certifies only those factories who
follow international manufacturing practices.
If you have any other questions please contact Jose Mestre,
the Executive Director of STWS, at 212-580-8043. Jose will contact
me or one of our consulting physicians in the U.S. with your
question.
Sincerely yours,
Dr. Smita Naram |
