Mayra Rodriguez Giovannelli is a Master and Teacher of the Usui, Tibetan & Karuna systems of Reiki and is regarded as one of Latin America's most prominent healers. She is also a Kabalistic and a Medical Qigong Healer.

For over 15 years she has traveled to remote places such as India, Egypt, China, Japan and Israel to deepen her knowledge and has trained in Medical Qigong, Reiki and Kabalistic Healing and other systems of Energy Medicine with prominent Masters around the world, such as: Master Zi Sheng Wang, who is renowned in Tibet and China for his ability to transmit healing energy to tens of thousands at a time: Gurumayi Chidvilasananda, from India; Yeshe Donden, the Dalai Lama’s physician; and Master Ken, who for 40 years has been the healer of prominent world figures such as Pope John II, the Dalai Lama and Tina Turner, among others; Master C.K. Chu and Master Jixing Li from China and Master Kuo, a Taoist Master from Taiwan.

Rodriguez specializes in cancer care through energy management and was, along with oncologist Dr. Rivera Figueroa, the pioneer of a Pilot Research Program for cancer patients at a hospital in Puerto Rico, the first in the island's medical history.

In 2004 Mayra Rodriguez Giovannelli was nominated and won two prestigious awards form the World Health Organization in an event sponsored by UNESCO. This organization conferred the Honorary Doctorate for the advancement of CAM (Complementary & Alternative Medicine) therapies in the treatment of cancer, and the International Merit for Educational Excellence.

In 2005 she received two nominations by the WHO: "The International Award for Excellence in Reiki" and an International Honorary Doctorate in Reiki. She received both awards, making her the first professional in CAM history to have two Honorary Doctorates. She has been nominated this year for the American Cancer Society’s Lane Adams Quality of Life Award.

She has taught at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Campus, has been actively training medical doctors, and her courses have been selected to be part of the Continuing Education Program of the Medical Doctors and Surgeon’s Association of Puerto Rico. Most recently, Rodriguez teamed up with the American Cancer Society in Puerto Rico to integrate Energy Medicine in the management of the disease.

Currently Ms. Rodriguez is the President and Executive Director of The Holistic Therapies Center in New York and The Puerto Rico Reiki Institute. In addition, she lectures both in Puerto Rico and New York, regularly participates in radio and T.V. shows and has collaborated with a great number of prestigious publications. She is currently working on two books and is developing new CAM techniques in the treatment of cancer.
