SERVING THOSE WHO SERVE
invites you to the
Staten Island Breath~Body~Mind Workshop
for 9/11 Responders & Ground Zero Workers
presented by
Dr. Richard Brown
with Dr. Pat Gerbarg
Richard P. Brown, MD, Associate Professor
in Clinical Psychiatry at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons,
teaches advanced breath techniques with movement and meditation to help stressed
and traumatized people improve energy, sleep quality, stress resilience, and peace
of mind. His work is a unique fusion of ancient and modern mind-body techniques
derived from QiGong, yoga, Christian monks, Coherent Breathing, Open Focus meditation,
and martial arts. Dr. Brown feels that "To be able to transform so many peoples'
lives in a short course has been a special blessing for me. I especially enjoy
helping 9/11 responders and military veterans recover their lives."
Research has shown that extraordinary breathing techniques,
like those taught by Dr. Brown, effectively relieve stress and improve energy, mental focus, heart
and lung function and endurance. The benefits have been demonstrated in health care practitioners,
individuals with psychiatric and medical conditions, and victims of terrorism, war and natural disasters.
Many people who have worked with Dr. Brown say they have been transformed, and that they never would have
imagined that something so simple would have been so powerful and helpful.
